Obituary of Teresa Kelly Albion NY: Teresa Anne Kelly (Marshall) joined the angels in heaven on March 10, 2015. She is pre- deceased by her husband Dr. James F. Kelly DDS, and their daughter Patricia Anne. Terry was born in Batavia and pre deceased by her parents Ida and Edmund Marshall, and pre deceased by her siblings Edmund Marshall, Lillian Kimaid, Claire Hermance, and Kathleen McGee. Teresa graduated valedictorian of her high school class at Batavia High School, and summa cum laude from Mercyhurst College. She started her career as a math teacher, teaching one year in Batavia. She worked briefly at Kodak in Rochester, and then married, and spent the next 18 years raising their family- Maureen of Williamsburg, VA, Katherine (Alton Lyons) of Atlanta, GA, Margaret of Williamsburg, VA, Kevin (Roseann Kudla) of Grand Island, NY, Daniel of Pittsburgh, PA, and Elizabeth of Williamsburg, VA.
She rejoined the workforce in the Orleans Department of Social Services where she finished her career 19 years later. Retirement did not slow Teresa down. She enjoyed knitting, cross stitch, sewing, building miniatures walking, swimming, and playing bridge. She loved travelling to visit and play with her grandchildren Amanda, and Jonathan Lyons (Rachel), Andrew (fiance´ Alexandra), Michael, Matthew, Molly and Erin Kelly. Teresa is also survived by her brother and sister in law John and Dorothy Kelly, Dorothy Marshall and many nieces and nephews. Teresa in her quiet, humble way supported many charities throughout the years. She was an active member of Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph's Church where she was a lectern, Eucharistic minister assisting in communion services at the church as well as the Orleans County Nursing home. She was Chairman of the Social Justice, and Respect Life Committees, and a member of the Spiritual Life Committee. She was part of many ministries including the Ministry of Concern, "The "Just Friends" program, and multiple fundraisers to benefit the community. She also was a volunteer at Hospice of Orleans County, and tested "Life Lines" for the Office of the Aging. Teresa also knit sweaters for the children of Afghanistan and Iraq, and volunteered at Child Welfare associates of Orleans County. Teresa was awarded the volunteer of the year award in Orleans County in1999. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Avenue, Albion, Sunday March 15, from 2:00-7:00. Terry's Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph's Church on Monday at 10:00am. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
