Obituary of Thelma M. Quaranta (BATAVIA/HOLLEY) Thelma M. Quaranta, age 97, died October 11, 2020 in the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home following a long illness. She was born November 9, 1922 in Holley to Charles and Hilda (Green) Gaines and been a resident of Niagara Falls, Clarendon/Holley, Batavia and Florida throughout her lifetime. Thelma was a Holley High School graduate, and was a former member of Holy Family Parish in Niagara Falls. She worked during the war at Bell Aircraft as well as at Sears and Roebuck Company. Thelma loved the sunshine which would explain her special affinity for living in/visiting Florida. Mrs. Quaranta was predeceased by her husband: Michael Nicholas Quaranta, her parents: Charles and Hilda Gaines and her brothers: Donald and Irving Gaines. She is survived by her son: Ronald (Roxane Vanelli) Quaranta of Batavia, 3 grandchildren: Christopher John Quaranta, Elizabeth (James) Shannon, Timothy Charles Quaranta, her great grandchildren: James Lee (Madison) Shannon, Patrick Shannon, Ryan Shannon, 2 great great grandchildren: Oliver and Violet, a sister-in-law: Constance Gaines as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 16650 State Rt. 31-Holley, THURSDAY October 22nd from 2-5 pm where her Funeral Service will be held FRIDAY October 23rd beginning at 11 am. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery. Please note the Funeral Home will be operating at 33% capacity per state guidelines. New York State requires those in attendance to adhere to the social distancing guidelines and face coverings are mandatory.
