Thomas E. Heard Jr.

Obituary of Thomas E. Heard Jr. Thomas E. Heard, Jr., age 86 of Brown Road, died 8/26/08 in Lakeside Memorial Hospital following a short illness. He was born in Buffalo June 25, 1922 to Thomas and Corinne(MacElwaine)Heard and had lived in this area over 82 years. Tom was a US Air Force Veteran of WWII, and served over 20 years in the Air Force Reserves following the war. He started in Albion as a clerk at the Marine Midland Bank and became involved in various community activities which helped propel him through various executive promotions with Marine Midland. Mr. Heard ultimately retired as a Vice President and Branch Manager with 43 years of service to Marine Midland Bank in Albion. Tom was also a Past President of the Albion Rotary Club and became a Paul Harris Fellow, one of Rotary's highest honors. He was a Founder and Treasurer of the Curtis Foundation, and a member of the Albion First Presbyterian Church for 73 years holding various offices including Deacon, Elder, and Treasurer. Throughout his career Mr. Heard headed up numerous fund raising campaigns including the United Way Appeal and also served many years on the Albion Board of Education. He was also involved in the Lewiston Trail Council Executive Board serving as Treasurer as well being Treasurer for the local Scout Troup.
