Obituary of Thomas E. O'Hara Thomas E. O’Hara, age 87, of Newfane, entered into rest on Thursday, March 29 2018 at Northgate Health Care Facility. Born April 24, 1930 in Lockport, Thomas is the son of the late Edward and Camille (Mahar) O’Hara. Thomas served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Occupation Medal, and Good Conduct Medal . He achieved the rank of Damage Controlman Second Class. Thomas married Sharon Frombgen April 24, 1971. Thomas worked at Harrison Radiator as a tinsmith, retiring in 1994. He also worked on the construction of the Niagara Falls Power Project and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel Project. A no-nonsense man, Tom was an avid golfer who was obsessive about lawn maintenance and ice cream. He delighted in the consumption of non-filtered Pall Malls, and carried himself with the ease of a man who had never been introduced to the word "fear." Surviving Thomas are his Sons Timothy (Kimberly) and Michael, Grandchildren Erin and Patrick, as well as many Nieces and Nephews. Tom was predeceased by his wife Sharon, and sisters, Camille Ginty and MaryAnn O’Malley. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home, 6139 East Avenue, Newfane, NY on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Brendan’s on the Lake R. C. Church (St. Bridget’s Site) on Friday at 11 am with inurnment at St. Patrick’s R.C. Cemetery following.
