Ulysses Grant Shiffer

Obituary of Ulysses Grant Shiffer Ulysses G. “Sonney” Shiffer, Jr. age 85 died Saturday June 3, 2017 at Unity Hospital. He was born August 5, 1931 in PA, a son of the late Ulysses G. and Anna Shiffer, Sr. and had lived in this area for most of his life. Sonney had served in the US Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post #410 of PA. He loved hunting, fishing, flea markets and spending time with his family. He was proud to be a grandfather, great-grandfather and a great-great-grandfather. He was predeceased by his wife Ernestine; daughters Pamela Jean Shiffer, Penny Jo Shiffer; sons Timothy Shiffer and Mark Shiffer; several brothers and sister. He is survived by his daughters Teresa Shiffer of Brockport and Brenda (Paul) Nesbitt of Holley; 3 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 4 great-granddaughters, 5 great-grandsons and 1 great-great-grandson; his sister Rhoda Shiffer of PA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 16650 State Route 31 Holley on Wednesday June 7th 11:00am-12:00pm. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Brockport. Memorials may be made to the organization of one’s choice.
