Obituary of Velma A. Banker (ALBION)
Velma A. Banker, age 82 of Allen Road, died 10/3/2014 in The Village of Orleans following a long illness. She was born 11/12/1931 in Albion to Amos and Cora DePoty and was a lifetime resident of this area. Velma was a graduate of Kendall Central Schools and was a member of the Gaines-Carlton Community Church. She loved collecting Avon figurines, especially dolls and salt and pepper shakers. However, her greatest love was her family. Mrs. Banker was predeceased by her son Michael Banker, brother Charles DePoty and sister Doris Suhr. She is survived by her husband of 63 years Irving, her daughters: Yvonne(Ricky)O'Kussick of Kent, Denise(Edward)Beebe of Rochester, Nancy(Douglass)Sucy of Churchville, her brother Henry DePoty of IL, her sister Patricia(Billy)Wells of Albion, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren…with one on the way, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Avenue-Albion, THURSDAY 4-7 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend Velma's Funeral Service at the Gaines-Carlton Community Church FRIDAY at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Mount Albion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Church, the American Diabetes Association or the American Stroke Association. Visitation
