Vincent A. Buckner

Albion: Vincent A. Buckner, age 83 of Linwood Ave. died November 16, 2009 at Rochester General Hospital following a short illness. He was born June 14, 1926 in the Town of Gaines, a son of the late August and Martha (Schuck) Buckner and had lived in this area all of his life.

Vincent had attended the Eagle Harbor United Methodist Church. He had served in the US Army from 1946-1948 and was a member of the Sheret Post #35 American Legion in Albion. Vincent had worked for over 34 years at T.J. Lipton's then went to work at Eastman Kodak for 10 years. He collected stamps and coins and loved to play cards, go fishing, car rides and spending time with his family.


He was predeceased by his first wife Helene Buckner, second wife Virginia Smith Buckner, brother Lyell Buckner and sister Virginia Hawkins.

He is survived by his daughters Linda (Walter) Hawkins, Marcia Buckner, sons Brian (Patti) Buckner, Brent Buckner, grandchildren Rhonda, James Hawkins, Vincent (Jeanne) Hawkins, Bradley Buckner, Elizabeth (Marty) Bezon, Katie Buckner, great-grandchildren Amanda, Zachary, Wesley, Mateo, sister Ruth Brownell, sister-in-law Lucille Buckner, dear friend Ruth Ebbs as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home 21 West Ave. Albion, NY 14411 on Wednesday from 3-7 followed by his memorial service at 7pm. Burial will be in Otter Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sheret Post #35 American Legion or the Eagle Harbor United Methodist Church.
