Obituary of Vincent Smith (ALBION) Vincent Smith, age 67, died February 27, 2021 in Rochester General Hospital following a short illness. He was born March 31, 1953 in Niagara Falls to George and Lucile (James) Smith and had lived in the Western New York area his entire life. Vincent attended the New Hope Baptist Church in Niagara Falls and the Eagle Harbor United Methodist Church in Albion and had worked as a cook at many local hotels and finally finishing his career retiring from the Albion Correctional Facility. He enjoyed fishing, watching Sci-Fi shows on TV as well as catering weddings and parties…especially family cook-outs. Mr. Smith was predeceased by siblings: Edward Smith, James E. Smith, David Smith, William Smith, Mae Elizabeth Hodges and Tyrone Smith. He is survived by his wife of 45 years: Eva (Riddick) Smith, his daughter: Consuela (Leon) Johnson of Albion, his brother: George Smith of Niagara Falls, his sister: Gwen Dexter of OH, 2 grandchildren: Asazi Harris, Mystique Smith as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend Vincent’s Memorial Service, Friday March 5th at 11 a.m. in the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Avenue-Albion. A livestream of his service will appear below his obituary on this page. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Please note that the Funeral Home will be operating at 50% capacity and that face masks/coverings are mandatory as well as NY State social distancing guidelines will be enforced.
