Obituary of Virginia Alexander DerSarkissian Virginia “Ginny” DerSarkissian , age 76, of Gasport, entered into rest on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Medina Memorial Hospital. Born February 18, 1935 in Lockport, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Martha (Rosenberg) Alexander. Ginny married Charles G. DerSarkissian June 12, 1954 at Ridgewood Bible Church. Mr. DerSarkissian died November 9, 1998. She loved being with her family and enjoyed baking cakes for family birthdays and making various desserts for family functions. Ginny enjoyed going to the Medina Stone Farm for square dancing. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards, gardening and traveling with her senior citizen groups. She was a member of Ridgewood Bible Church, Newfane Golden Agers and Barker Senior Citizens. Ginny had lived in Gasport since 1954, previously of Lockport. She is survived by her children: Karen Demorest of Barker, Darlene Woodworth of Middleport, Charles (Julie) DerSarkissian of Hartland and Paul (Katie) DerSarkissian of Hartland. Grandmother of Deanna of Tampa, Denille stationed at Groton, CT Submarine Base, Jessica of Raleigh, NC, Heather of Hartland and Alexander, Lucas and Carter all of Hartland. Great granddaughter, Hope of Tampa also survives her. Sister of Marvin Alexander of Lockport, Larry (Susan) Alexander of Lockport and the late Roger Alexander. Sister-in-law of Hazel Alexander of Akron. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and many dear friends especially the sister she never had, Eleanor Parker of Lockport and dear friend R.J. Walker of Gasport. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport, NY on Wednesday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Ridgewood Bible Church, 7071 Ridge Road, Lockport, NY on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 11:00 am with the Reverend Charles Jennings officiating.
