Virginia Monica DiLaura

Obituary of Virginia Monica DiLaura Virginia studied art and criminal justice at Genesee Community College, Brockport State College and Rochester Institute of Technology. She studied art and crafts at Bernice Yunker in Elba Studio for 25 years. She also had done secretarial studies at R.B.I. Virginia designed and made hats at B. Foreman Co. and in Cleveland. She worked as a secretary at Folmer Graflex and as a corrections officer at the Albion Correctional Facility and at Bedford Hills Prison for 20 years retiring in 1974. Virginia was the founding member of the Friends and Flowers Garden Club in Albion. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Ladies of Charity and the Cobblestone Society. She served as a board member for the Orleans County Historical Society for 10 years and the Orleans County Quilters. Virginia was a co-chair for several years of the Pineneedle Twig at Arnold Gregory Hospital where she made puppets for all the children and knitted goods for the annual sale. She loved to exhibit her pressed flower collages, bookmarks, watercolors, quilts and china painting.
