Obituary of Virginia Marie Germain Virginia M. "Ginny" Germain of Waterford Wisconsin, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Waterford Senior Living.
She was born in Olean, NY June 28, 1926 to Frank and Bertha (nee Bell) Nickel. She graduated from South Park High School in Buffalo, NY before receiving her associat'e degree from Niagara County Community College in Sanborn, NY.
On February 7, 1948 she was united in marriage to George Earl Germain in Buffalo, NY. Following marriage they moved to Middleport, NY where they owned a grocery store called Germain's Red & White. Ginny also sold real estate for 10 years. Ginny and George were members of St. Stephen's Catholic Church. George preceded her in death February 28, 2003.
She was an avid reader, sang in the church choir and different musicals, played piano, collected dolls and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.
Ginny is survived by her children, Linda Germain Kenyon, Patricia Bebler, Mary Clare (Michael) Houghes, David Germain and Richard (Susan) Germain; son-in-law Gary Bebler; her grandchildren Matthew (Angi) Fettes, Kristen Fettes, Brian Fettes, Evan Bebler, Joseph Germain and Michael Germain. She is further survived by a sister Carol A. Nickel and nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and numberous friends.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice and Waterford Senior Living for their special care and attention.
Services for Ginny were held Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, Wisconsin.
Burial was held Monday July 15, 2013 at 10:00AM at St.Stephen's Cemetery, Middleport with Rev. Daniel J. Fawls officiating.
Memorials to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America would be appreciated by the Germain family.
