Obituary of Watson E. Smith Albion: Watson E. “Smitty” Smith, 88, died October 3, 2016 at Medina Memorial Hospital. He was born August 20, 1928 in Williamsport, PA. a son of the late Earl and Lillian (Atkins) Smith. Mr. Smith served his country from 1946-1950 in the United States Navy and was former employee of Eastman Kodak Co. retiring in 1983. “Smitty” enjoyed traveling, fishing and moving (“Smitty and his wife Zola had moved 16 times). He was predeceased by his daughter, Ruth; 5 sisters and 3 brothers. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Zola (Moore) Smith; children, Karen (Ron) Meiers of Holley, Laurie (Harry) Ettinger of Holley, Andrew (Rebecca) Smith of Batavia, Linda (Alan) Chauvin, Sharon (Andy) Dyson, Cynthia (Steven) Sheffield and Watson Smith Jr. all of California; sister, Judy (Merrill) Zimmerman of Milton, PA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Evelyn Taylor of Pavilion, Geraldine Smith of Holley, Arthur Gay of Rochester, Gerald Campbell of Brockport, Colleen Sauro of Holley, Vera (John) Kingdollar of Albion, Freida Sabo of Albion, Betty Fulks of Albion, Bernice (George) Smith of Albion, Cecil (Mary Lou) Moore of Holley, Lorraine Moore of Holley, Robert Moore of Rochester, David (Becky) Moore of Holley and Sandy (Jerry) Kozlowski of Holley; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
No prior calling hours. Mr. Smith’s Memorial Service will be held at the Disciples United Methodist Church, 4410 Holley Byron Rd. (Rte. 237) Holley, NY 14470 on Monday October 10, at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disciples United Methodist Church.
