William D. Mayer, age 65 of W. Kendall Road, died suddenly 7/30/09 in Rochester General Hospital. He was born in Rochester June 26, 1944 to Franklin and Ruth Doser and had lived in this area for many years. Mr. Mayer was a United States Air Force veteran of Vietnam, a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, a member of the Kendall Lions Club and the Brockport VFW. He enjoyed being outdoors, travelling in his motor home and woodworking. Bill was a graduate of Monroe Community College, FBI National Academy, and retired as Major from the Rochester Police Dept. in 1989. He also was a former Chief of Police for the Village of Holley. Bill is survived by his wife of 45 years Carol, daughters: Barb(Ed)Snyder of Albion, Debra Mayer of Batavia, son: Richard(Donna)Mayer of WA, grandsons: Andrew Krantz, Nicholas and Alec Mayer, sisters: Kathleen(Earl)Hinkson, Christine(Steve Watkins)Mannara, brother: Donald(Jody)Mayer, as well as several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
