Obituary of William C. Nottingham Sr. (ALBION)
William C. “Charlie” Nottingham Sr., age 79 of W. State Street, died 7/25/2016 at his residence following a long illness. He was born 4/4/1937 in Clay County, WV to John and Lucy Nottingham and had lived in this area since 1974. Charlie was a former coal miner and had also worked as a farm worker at Brown's Berry Patch and Locust Grove Farms. He enjoyed hunting, watching wrestling and driving tractors. Charlie loved his dogs but whole-heartedly loved his grandchildren. Mr. Nottingham was predeceased by 6 brothers and 5 sisters. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Sharon, his son: William “C.J.” Nottingham Jr of Albion, his daughters: Loria (James Stone) Nottingham of Albion, Sherry(Matt)Wilson of Kendall, his step daughter: Debbie Johnson of Albion, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson as well as several nieces and nephews including Mary Grose. The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Avenue-Albion, FRIDAY from 12-2 where his Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. following visitation. Interment will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans County.
