William J. "Billy, Buddy" Sanford

Obituary of William J. "Billy, Buddy" Sanford Albion: William J. Sanford, 77, passed away December 4, 2018 at Medina Memorial Hospital. He was born February 16, 1941 in the Town of Gaines, a son of the late Sumner and Thelma (Payne) Sanford. Billy was an active member of the Albion community. He was always helping someone, whether it was shoveling snow, running errands or taking care of his neighbors animals, Billy “wore many hats” He was even honored by the community with Billy Sanford Day. Buddy loved music, movies, riding his tri rod, fishing, traveling and gambling. His greatest joy was spending time with his loving family. He was predeceased by his siblings, Florence Pace, Donald Sanford, Dorothy Frank, Helen Maynard and Robert Sanford. Billy is survived by his sisters, Delores Hackenberg of Medina and Betty Christopher of Albion, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday December 8, from 11:00-1:00 at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Avenue Albion, where his Funeral Service will follow calling at 1:00pm. Interment will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Medina Memorial Hospital/ Transitional Care Unit, 200 Ohio St. Medina, NY 14103
