Obituary of William A. Tillman Albion: William A. Tillman, 91, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 22, 2017. He was born December 6, 1925 in Rochester, a son of the late Samuel and Mary (Vincent) Tillman. Bill was a graduate of Aquinas High School class of 1943 and a 1950 graduate of Windsor University with a Bachelor of the Arts degree. Mr. Tillman was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow through Rotary International and served in the United States Air Force during WWII. In 1952, Bill opened Tillman’s Village Inn on Ridge Rd. in Childs, NY, which he owned and operated for 40 years, retiring in 1992. Tillman’s Village Inn is now owned and operated by Bill’s sons, Mark and Thomas. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Tillman. Bill is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen “Lynn” Tillman; sons, Thomas Tillman and Mark (Susyn) Tillman, both of Albion; grandchildren, Amber, Derek (Erica) Tillman and Samantha; great-grandchildren, Elijah and James; sister, Dianne (Edward) Murray of VA; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Tillman of Albion and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
No prior calling hours. Bill’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph’s Church, Tuesday April 25, at 10:00am. Private interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
