(Albion) Michael C. Hofbauer age 71 died January 8, 2020 at his home. He was born July 7, 1948 in Elmira, NY, a son of the late Clement and Eleanor (Baylor) Hofbauer and had lived in this area for the past 40 years.
Michael was a salesman and had owned his own car dealership for many years. He loved the outdoors, whether he was walking in the woods, pheasant hunting or just sitting outside. He loved dogs and raised German Short Haired, but most importantly he loved being a dad and a papa; it was everything to him.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Kathleen Bartt; his brother Denis Hofbauer. He is survived by his loving companion Diane Pope; his daughter Katie (Brian) Applegate; grandchildren Vivian, Brittany, Jacob, Jacqueline, Austin, Jaxx; great-grandson Xander; step-daughters Deanna (Brad), AnnaMaria (Bill); his siblings Nancy (Bob) Phillips, Phillip (Bonnie) Hofbauer, Marjorie (Dan) Pastalaniec and several nieces and nephews.
There are no prior calling hours. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday January 18th at 11:00am at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 W. Ave. Albion. Burial will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans, P.O. Box 489, Albion NY 14411 or to the Friends of the Orleans County Animal Shelter, 4125 Oak Orchard Rd., Albion NY 14411.
