(Hamlin) Carl A. “Uncle Joe”, “Hoss” VanOrden died September 17, 2020 at Unity Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born January 20, 1954 in Brockport, a son of the late Edward Eugene and Florence Louise (Porter) VanOrden.
Carl graduated Kendall High School in 1972. He worked at Eastman Kodak for many years and after, drove truck for Flamingo Trucking Company; he loved to travel the open road. Carl loved going to the races at Ransomville, Lancaster, Genesee and Perry Speedway. Halloween was his favorite. He would dress up in a costume and sit outside with the candy dish on his lap, scaring anyone he could. All the kids loved trick or treating at his house, because he always handed out the full-sized candy bars. He will be remembered for making people laugh, being an instigator then sitting back and watching it all unfold and his big heart. He had strong family values and was very dedicated and loyal to his family. Carl was the biggest supporter in any activity they participate in; he truly loved his family and the time he spent with them.
